Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

The HCEMEC coordinates and oversees PLC meetings across the district providing an opportunity for music specialists to share and collaborate with other professionals. While some music specialists have a co-teacher, many teachers work alone and are the only music teacher at their school, therefore the PLCs provide a great opportunity for music specialists to truly have a community with which to confer and improve their teaching practice. The HCEMEC offers several different locations regionally to allow teachers from the farthest corners of our vast county to participate without travel or distance becoming a hindrance. Each regional PLC has a facilitator who receives training in coordinating a PLC as well as a library of resources for use by the members of the PLC.
